NJWA has an extensive training program of half-day and one-day sessions. Seminars are conducted at locations throughout New Jersey for the convenience of participants. Seminars are performance based. NJWA trainings cover a wide variety of subjects pertaining to the technical, managerial and financial skills necessary for efficient system operation.

    New Jersey’s Water Quality Accountability Act: An Overview, and a Special Focus on Valves

    Description
    The Water Quality Accountability Act (WQAA) became effective on October 19, 2017 and established new requirements for purveyors of public water to improve the safety, reliability and administrative oversight of water infrastructure. The Act requires purveyors to create and implement an asset management plan (AMP) designed to inspect, maintain, repair and renew its infrastructure consistent with standards established by the American Water Works Association (AWWA). In addition to drafting an AMP, purveyors are required to routinely exercise water valves.

    Course Description:
    Automatic control valves provide many common functions in water and wastewater systems. Some of the applications are familiar, and some are less common. In an era where cost reduction is a high priority, increases in the specifications and use of automated control valves will continue. Course participants will learn how to appropriately apply automated control valves to their processes, to select valves, and to operate and maintain them in the most efficient manner.
