Description: This goal of this training seminar is to provide attendees with an overview of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Navigational Satellite Systems (GNSS) and how they can be used to improve daily operations at your utility. Recent improvements in technology allows GIS to be consumed over the internet through a web GIS and extended to the field through mobile GIS; giving office and field staff access to the same data in real-time. This course will also discuss the GIS/GNSS requirements within the Water Quality Accountability Act (WQAA) and provide attendees with information necessary to comply with WQAA. The goal of this course is to allow attendees to come away with the information necessary to decide how to proceed with starting (or jumpstarting) your GIS program.
