On March 27, NJWA members presented Congressman Chris Smith with NJWA’s President’s Award. The award was given to Mr. Smith for his long and outstanding advocacy for environmental issues.
Mr. Smith spent about an hour speaking with NJWA members about drinking water and wastewater issues in the U.S., and about the need for clean drinking water and basic sanitation in much of the developing world. Mr. Smith represents New Jersey’s 4th congressional district. Pictured, from left to right are: Carl Behrens, Cape May Tom Nicastro, Manasquan Rick Howlett, NJ Water Association Rep.
